Now I'm not a big a superhero movie kinda girl, so when Brendan came home on Wednesday with advanced tickets for the Dark Night, I wasn't jumping for joy. Heath Ledger's creepy post-mortem performance as The Joker really made me wary of hopping into a seat at the nearest movie theater with popcorn and Twizzlers in tow.
On Friday, we had a nice dinner with some friends and headed to the theater. Two and a half hours later, I was a bona fide Batman fan! Yes, Heath's role was extremely creepy and deranged, but it was by far the best of his career and one can't help but wonder how much more amazing work he would have been able to do if he wouldn't have died so young. Also, Maggie Gyllenhaal is a far better Rachel than Katie Holmes.
Everything was phenomenal and I highly recommend waiting with the masses to see it, even if you're not a super hero movie fan.
