I'M A NERD!

Wow, this is really a week full of nerdy posts. But I guess I am a nerd and this is my blog so I say what I want!

I've never watched a season of American Idol all the way through, but I watched this one and I am SO excited that Kris Allen won! Not just because he's a really great singer, but because I just think he's a really awesome person and it's cool to see good things come to good people.

I was listening to the radio the other morning and this women was going on and on about how young he was and how young his wife was and that she didn't think that their "little relationship" could make it through this and all this stuff and that just really ticked me off.

Not that I have it all figured out, but when you do things right and you do what God wants you to do, He blesses you. I'm a "young" wife and hearing comments like this really make me mad. I'm married to the person that God wanted me to marry. And let me tell you, when you follow God's plan, life is incredible. And who is anyone to say that a "little relationship" like marriage can't last? Especially someone who's own marriage didn't last?

This is a couple who's a part of a church that my church helped plant (Kris was a worship leader there) and maybe I'm just being protective, but I just want to through my two sense out there say go Kris and your cute little wife! Way to go by winning and go prove the people wrong who say you were too young to get married and have a happy "little relationship" that lasts forever!

  1. I deal with this alllllll the time at work. People ask how married life is. I grin and say, "It's amazing!! Best thing ever!" They smirk and say, "Yeah, we'll see in ten years when you're miserable...." Uh? What? It makes me so frustrated. I can't wait til we've been married for 10 years and I get to tell them I'm still in a successful marriage.
