This is not because he got in at 4 AM. No no, my friend. I left my phone turned on silent. Not all the way silent, but close enough. Silent enough for me to sleep right on through the tower bells that so cheerfully wake me every other morning. And because I had the bed all to myself, I must have just rolled over, stretched out, and fallen even deeper into that early morning, weird dream sleep.
So needless to say, I literally showered in two minutes and was out the door in seven. I told a colleague of mine my little escapade and she shrugged and said "eh, you don't look that bad." I'll take it.
Anywho, I was planning on heading to the beach after work to take a walk and maybe bring a book. Many hours later, I have not been to the beach. I had a stroke of creative genius while zoning out in meetings and drowning in sticky notes today. I decided that I should, as a surprise, make a "first year" scrap book and give it to Brendan on our anniversary (June 20).
So I went to Michael's after work, and an hour and $132 later came out with Martha Stewart craft supplies galore. As I was driving home, with my huge bag of paper and stickers that say kind of weird things in tow, I came to realization that $132 is an absurd amount of money to spend on a scrap book (unless you are my Mom, that's a different story). Sure, pictures are priceless, but let's face it. The chance of me actually sitting down and having the time to complete such an undertaking is pretty slim. So tomorrow Michael's will receive all of their supplies back in exchange for $132.
Why do I tell you all of this? I don't know. Maybe in the time I spent writing this, I could have began my little project. But, no. Blogging is free. And photo books from Snapfish are way cool.
But let me take some time (yes, more)to briefly list the exciting things going on/coming in my life:
- Work is nuts. I've applied for some new positions internally and externally. We'll see what the fall out is over the next few months.
- I'm planning two trips that I'm very excited about: 1. Maryland sometime in July/August 2. NYC in November. Brendan's never been to NYC and I've been once. That's a funny story that I will save for a later post.
- We joined a small group at church. I'm so glad that we finally did. It's been so great and refreshing. The only thing is that half of the girls are having babies (which really isn't a "thing" at all). I've been told not to drink the water.
- We were briefly considering buying a house, but have decided to stay put. There were a lot of reasons for this, but I'm glad we came to that conclusion. I love our place now anyway, and am not ready to leave (or go through the agony of moving. That crap's for the birds).
- Hooray! We finally got our wedding pictures and album. I'd like to point out that this lack in timeliness had nothing to do with the photographers. I took forever deciding which pics I wanted to use for the album. I'm just glad we got them before our anniversary.

- Our anniversary is this month! One year down, a lifetime more to go :D
- I'm not as on track as I'd like to be to finishing my book, but I'm getting there. I'm now working on two, which is really weird since they're each very different. I plan to have the first one done by the end of the year.
- We're so excited for Megan and Eric to get here!
- Mo is finding a way to steal all my jewelry and hide it random places in the house.
Bla bla. I'm boring. Stop by tomorrow, I might have something interesting to say. Good night:)
Tell me how to do those stinkin' background patterns! I need one for my website... interested?
