Happy Halloween! Well, I guess I'm a day late. My apologies. Let me give you the rundown of yesterday's activities that prevented me from posting on time...
It all started with our mid-morning errands. They were pretty mundane; went to the bank, dropped several large trash bags of no-longer-loved clothes at Goodwill, and the place that we have to go at least once a weekend, Target. So we're walking around our Saturday morning hot spot, not really looking for anything in particular, when we come across a rack of leggings in the women's section. {{I'm sorry. I have to interrupt your regularly scheduled blogging to tell you something funny. If you are a blogger at blogspot you may have run into something like this. Blogspot has a very aggressive spell check. So much so that the dotted red line often finds itself under correctly spelled words, mostly contractions, such as "women's." Momentarily doubting my spelling skills, I right-clicked the word to find the suggested proper spelling: "womenfolk's." I'm sorry. It made me laugh. Now back to the blog now in progress...}}
Because I do not have a picture of these leggings at the moment, I will do my best to describe them and what they inspired. These were not the common trendy leggings you would find in most junior's and womenfolk's departments across the country. Among the gray, black, and herringbone leggings where a glorious rack of shimmery metallic gold and silver leggings. Normally, I would have instantly written them off as tacky and not given them a second glance. But not so for my resourceful and creative hubby.
"How could I wear these in a costume?" he asked. I might also mention that as well as being resourceful and creative, Brendan is also pretty brave. These leggings are not for the wimpy or bashful.
Immediately I thought "Blades of Glory." So for the rest of the day we went from thrift store to thrift store in search of skates, metals, and anything Brian Boitano inspired. I wish I had pictures, but I'm going to have to wait to snag some from Facebook because I was so excited to get out and show off our sweet ice dancer diggs that I totally forgot to take time for a photo opp. But don't worry my friends. I will post pics as soon I get them.
We did make some time yesterday for pumpkins. We had a few, but due to the unseasonably warm weather we've had the last couple days, our poor pumpkins prematurely turned to mush. So my friend Megan and I opted for some mini-pumpkins and paint while the guys watched football.
Hope you're Halloween was great! Should I close this with "I'm sorry, I promise I'll get better at posting more often?" I think that one might be a little overdone....
