Hello, 2010.

Happy New Year!! I hope you all had a fabulous night ringing in the New Year. Brendan and I opted to lay low, spending New Year's Eve at a good friend's house eating a traditional Italian New Years Dinner, drinking some vino and playing this really strange but fun board game called Quelf. Basically there are no rules in this game and everyone ends up making an idiot of themselves. It definitely made for interesting night. I'm really kicking myself that I didn't come back with any photo documentation of our friend Eric doing an Irish jig while singing "The Wheels on the Bus" or Brendan having to snort everytime he laughed for the duration of the game. Oh, and another reason I like the game was because I won! I never win board games! I think the fact that this game has no rules had a little something to do with it.

Anyway, it wouldn't be a new year without recapping the old and forecasting the new. So here are a few highlights of 2009:

-We said goodbye to a new friend, and hello to a new one.

We miss ya, pal :(

But I'm really diggin' our new ride.

-I took a new position within CreateSpace, working with Kindle Conversion. So far, so good :)

-We got a new camera! I'm in love. And addicted to taking pictures of Daniel Island.

-My ((almost)) entire family came down to Charleston for Easter. I never thought everyone would be able to make it at the same time...or in my Civic on the way home from the airport.

-Our nephew, Hayden, turned one!

-We joined a small group at Seacoast and have made some great friends!

-We spent Thanksgiving in one of my favorite places in the world...NYC! It was Brendan's first time there and first time to see a Broadway show. In-credible! One of the best highlights of the year for sure!

So, what does 2k10 hold? Here's what the intermarry looks like so far...

-I know it's the most cliché resolution, but I definitely want to start the hitting the gym in the morning on a regular basis. In the past few weeks I've been doing it off and on and have seen a huge increase in energy levels when I go. My goal is to start at three days and then work up to five. Wish me luck!

-Brendan will be taking his CPA this year. Wish him luck too!

-Our lease is up in June, so we'll have so some serious thinking to do. Will we stay put? Will we move to a bigger condo? Will we try to buy? Definitely TBD.

-I've set a goal for myself to finish my first book by March. Hopefully this is realistic. As for the second? It's on hold indefinitely. Hopefully by this time next year they'll both be done!

And that's all for now, folks! Here's wishing you and yours a happy, healthy, and blessed 2010!
