Ok, so I can't official say that I'm a Mendenhall, but in 30 days, the title of this blog will be legit! Wow, I can't believe it! We've been waiting for this day for so long, and it's almost here. All of this has been so surreal, and every day gets better and better.
After seeing friends who've started blogs to keep family and friends afar in the know, I've been inspired to do the same. Hopefully this will make us all feel a little closer! I'm working on getting a web cam, but that may not be in the nearest future.
Anywho, we're really starting to get settled here on beautiful Daniel Island. This is the last place we expected to be, but it's amazing how God knows what we want even better than we do. We could not be more thrilled to start our lives together here. I have thoroughly enjoyed then time I get to spend here while moving my [tons of] stuff.
Brendan's mom was kind enough to buy us both these awesome hybrid bikes for my graduation, and we've been taking them out almost every night. Every time we go out, we discover some new natural beauty that honestly takes our breath away. I know that sounds cheesy, but there's no other way to put it.
The other night, it was high tide over a wet land that feeds out into the river. The sun was setting over the little bike bridge, and it was such a mesmerizing moment. On our little bike adventures, we've also found several baby alligators (!) and tons of beautiful birds along the trails: herons, egrets, all kinds of things. I plan on learning all of their names. Next time we go out, I'll take my camera so I can post some pictures.
Here are some of the island for now. Check back soon, there will be more to come!
