Memorial Day Fun!

Cook outs, crowded pools, and sunburn...all of the things we love about the first big weekend of the summer. This Memorial Day (our first in Charleston) was a total blast...minus I a few sprinkles during our cookout. But even a little condensation didn't get in the way. My lovely roomie Kim came down for the long weekend and palled around with us all over Charleston.

I just love having people visit, so showing her around town was so much fun. When she first got there it was kind of cloudy and gloomy, but if you Kim and I, nothing gets in the way of our fun. So as I was showing her around the ritzier part of the island, we decided to stop at a pond on the golf course to closer observe the alligator that was hanging out in the water. After sending a wood chip plopping in the water around it's head to make it move so we could "get a better look," we took off running to the jeep, while the alligator just watched us, probably thinking what idiots we looked like. And that was only the beginning of a great weekend!

Brendan was a grilling warrior, even though Saturday was pretty overcast, definitely not barbecue weather. One of his coworkers and his wife stopped by and we had a wonderful time. Ending the weekend with a beautiful day at the beach, really got us all looking forward to our summer there. The only thing that would have made it better is if all our family and friends were closer, so they could have joined in!

Kim has all of the pictures on her camera, so as soon as I can get my hands on it, pictures will be up!
