Ok, so I have a new resolution. Obviously I can't make this a New Year's resolution because it's only September. Whatever.
Anyway, I resolve to bake better. And by better I mean amazingly. It's not that my little confections always taste bad, nor do they always look bad, but usually it's one or the other. Like last Valentine's Day I made these adorable cupcakes with fluffy pink creamcheese frosting and strawberries shaped like hearts to top that would have put Martha Steward to shame. I was so proud of them. But then I ate one. And it was ok. But just ok. Not at all as good as you would expect given how awesome they looked. And on the other hand, I made Brian (my youngest brother) a birthday cake last year that was supposed to be iced to look like a snare drum (he loved the drums). I was so excited to ice it, that I did it too soon and the whole thing just kinda fell apart because it was still too warm. I ended up writing with icing that it was supposed to be a drum. I'm sure I have pictures. But it was super super yummy.
So what gives!?
I don't know. But I am on a quest. A quest to make the most delicious, most beautiful baked goods this side of the Cooper, so stay tuned friends. You know I'll be documenting the good, the bad, and the tasty.
