I guess I never really appreciated how beautiful Maryland's autumns were until I left. That's not to say that Charlotte didn't have a stunning fall last year (it definitely did!). It just comes a little later here in the south, which is fine by me because holding on to a late summer tan is something I can't really argue with.
But recently I began to freak out a little after hearing lots and lots of Charlestonians say that fall is the one season they don't really get down here. What a total bummer!!
Well I think God answered my prayers for a unseasonably pretty fall in the low country because I can actually see signs of leaves looking a little orange and the weather has been absolutely beautiful. This whole week we've had no humidity, temps right around 70, and all the windows open day and night.
Takes good ol' Chucktown up a good ten points in my book.
So will we live here forever now that I know that it's not a muggy steam bath 9 months a year? I can't really say, but I'm leaning towards probably not. But I can tell you it makes it a heck of a lot better!
So bring on the football, trick-or-treaters, and pumpkin pie! I am ready for a fabulous fall!
Now all we need to do is find a good pumpkin patch. No one seems to know what they are down here....
