It was a Merry Little Christmas:)

Wow! After a jetset Christmas, we're back home and getting caught up on real life. Christmas was definitely a little crazier than years past, but I think we got a lot in in a short amount of time and really enjoyed ourselves.

It all started bright and early Christmas morning. Well, I shouldn't really say bright because at 6:00 AM, the sun's still hiding away from sleepy people tucked tightly in their beds. But not us. No way. It was Christmas morning and we had somewhere to be! And when that somewhere is ten hours away, you have to fly. So we were up and at 'em, on our plane at 6:45 AM.

We got in with out a hitch at about 11:45 and had one of the best Christmases to date. The food was amazing and it was so wonderful to be around family- some we hadn't seen since the wedding in June.

I also took advantage of the fabulous after-Christmas sales at the humongo Annapolis Mall and cashed in on some seriously sweet deals. I can't believe how much that area has changed even since June. Maybe we've been away for long enought to forget old times, but we couldn't help but feel a little clostrophobic in the midst of all the newly developed hustle and bustle. And Nordstrom or Macy's that I missed so much? I didn't even go in them when I went to the mall.

I guess what I'm getting at is that I loved Maryland when I lived there, but I can't help feel that it was a lovely part of our past, and probably won't play a huge role in our future. We've come to appreciate Charleston so much and feel truly at home here. I know a few months ago I was really marching to a different tune, but what I can say? Cold weather and bad drivers have somehow lost their charm.

But it was a fantastic Christmas and getting to see family and friends was definitely worth the trip.
