Tis the Season!

I know it's been a while since my last post, but 'tis the season for...so much! Which is why I haven't had a lot of free time. Our last several weekends have been packed with Christmas shopping, decorating our first tree, and this weekend, going to Spartanburg for Brendan's company Christmas party. The forcast for the next several weekends promises to be equally as busy with parties and wrapping up our last bit of Christmas shopping.

Anywho, since Christmas has pleasantly dominated our time, we haven't been up to much of anything unrealated to the holidays. Brendan's parents came over the weekend after Thanksgiving to help us with the tree. It turned into an impromtu second Thanksgiving dinner and the first time we used our new China! It was a very momentus occation.

Since putting the tree up, we've been busy with some other little decorating and picking up things here and there that are sure to remind us of our first Christmas for years to come.

We've also been enjoying all Charleston has to offer this time of year, and I have to say, I've been pleasantly surprised. Not that I didn't think Christmas would be great down here, it's just that with out freezing cold weather and a flurry here and there, I wasn't sure if I could really get in the spirit. Well, I've learned that it doesn't have to be 10 degrees to feel like Christmas. Nope. Not at all. In fact, I've come to quite apreciate the 50 degree days and lack of icy condinsation.

I have to say, Charleston does Christmas quite well. A few nights ago, Brendan and some friends of ours road through the James Island light show (pictures soon to come), and I know this sounds silly, but....it was totally magical. If I was a little kid I would have been flipping out. It took about an hour to drive through and I've never seen anything like it. We went through a swap, Candyland, Toyland, Jurasack Park, Santa's Workshop, outerspace, Noah's Ark...I can't even remember everything. We even had to stop at one point to let a family of real live deer cross the street. It was really cool. I think we may go back a second time before Christmas comes and goes.

And the houses here on Daniel Island are pretty beautiful too. We ride around every weekend to see what's new. So far, we have not been dissapointed.

But beyond all of the sparkle and nostigia that Christmas brings, we feel so blessed to know the true meaning of Christmas and hope that it will touch your heart as much as it has touched ours.

"Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Emmanuel. For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever."
Isaiah 9: 6,7

Merry Christmas everyone! We can't wait to see you guys!
