I'm hearing crickets.
Well, what can I say? I've had a bit of blogger's block lately. Has it really been since the fourth of July?? Yes. Yes my friends, it has. And what excuse do I have?
- My fingers where broken?
- My computer and every publicly accessible computer in Charleston has H1N1?
- I've suddenly fallen illiterate?
- I have resorted to throwing random letters in bottles into the Atlantic and hope one will wash up your way?
The truth is, between staring at a computer screen at work all day and spending hours writing outside of work, the old peepers are just about shot at the end of the day. But tonight, as I really should be sleeping, I will take a moment to extend an olive branch, my dear readers, if any of you are still interested, and delve into some of the newest developments down here on the home front.
Good gracious, where do I begin?? It's kinda the same feeling I have when I've let the kitchen get out of control messy and have no idea where to start.
Hmm.....
I like lists. I'm a major list maker. If you saw my desk right now, you'd see about a million little neon sticky notes dangling from the bottom of my computer screen, and in their midst, one big "master" sticky (my favorite, with little whales at the bottom): my all-encompassing to-do list. So here goes:
- We were {briefly} thinking about moving off the island and staking our claim of the American Dream in a townhouse in Mt. Pleasant. But we decided to stay put. While Mt. P is nice, we're totally not ready to leave the bike trails, our favorite pools, or our newly negotiated rent rate here on DI.
- I got a new job!! Still at BookSurge, but in Pre-Press working with Kindle file conversion. Sa-weeeet! I will dearly miss my favorite fellow trouble makers and our fun "team building" exercises, but life is nothing if not change.
- Speaking of team building, see the below photo of me and "Team Confirm and Advise" celebrating our lone male colleague on man day. In case you can't tell, I'm second from the right. And yes, those are 'stashes we're wearing. Except Jack. I guess he didn't need one to participate...
- Brendan and I are PUMPED about our little vacay coming up this fall. Thanksgiving. New York City. Just the two of us. It will be magical :)
- I'm really making steam with both of my novels, which is really pretty unexpected. I did not plan on working on two at the same time. In fact, I wondered if I could even tackle one, but they both just sort of came to me unexpectedly. They're very different from each other, but I love them both so much. I hope to be done with the first one by the end of March and have some publishing options in line. More to come for sure.
- Mo is still the cutest thing with paws.
I hate to think this is really all that has hindered me from throwing a post up here or there, but I'm sure I'll think of more. It's getting late and I'm *hoping* to hit the gym tomorrow morning before work. We'll see...
Bonne nuit, mon amis!
So, how did I not know you were writing one book, much less TWO??? That is awesome! I want to hear more. And NYC for Thanksgiving?? I'm trying not to be jealous! I think you guys have very similar vacation taste to me and Jason. We LOVE NY! Are you planning to see any shows? We would highly recommend Jersey Boys.
ReplyDeleteWelcome back to the blogging world! Oh, how we've missed you. What are your novels about?? I KNOW, your next blog post can be about those :) Hope you're doing well!
